Rendering and construction
2013/2017

Compilation of different Professional projects developed in LAB Visualizacion firm and others developed individually.

Nowadays, digital representation is a fundamental technique that involves all of the phases of design, for representing an idea or concept and also for exploring and adding new variables that were not taken into consideration years ago. The high quality of the result is an additional value for the different skills that are explored in the firm.

In charged of the whole design, materials, colors, lighting, furniture, etc. Image design and representation skills.

CONVIVE CONTEST:
DESIGN FOR FLOODING DISASTER
2012

Contest to improve the current conditions of the inhabitants of Buenaventura, Colombia; who are prone to social problems and deplorable sanitary conditions and possible catastrophic circumstances by climate change. By understanding these circumstances and with preventive vision propose solutions to them.

The proposal includes a new environmental ring in order to create a boundary for the informal housing appropriation of the sea and to protect the island for possible natural disasters. The ring acts as link that creates green public spaces integrating physically and socially the island. At the same time it reactivates the maritime border with different economic activities for the town.

Mapping Infra and Social Structure in Cumbaya
2015

The present project realizes the benefits, constrains and results of the application of mapping, used as a tool for understanding and revealing the relationships between infrastructure development and social structures in Cumbaya, a parish located in Quito-Ecuador. Cumbaya’s growth is an example of fast development strategies. Nevertheless its unplanned expansion has led to the marginalization of the community and its social interactions.

ANTI CONSTRUCTION:
BUILDING A TRANSITIONAL SPACE
2015

Shrinking cities are dense cities that have experienced a great amount of population and buildings loss. Since the infrastructure of such cities was built to support a larger population, its maintenance and development can become a serious concern. As a conclusion from this research, Shrinking cities are considered, not as an issue but as a product of life cycle. However, the actual misreading of shrinking cities has led to social contemporary problems.

If shrinking is a part of life cycle, the solution is not the construction of a giant infrastructure or building, but strategic actions that allow a better use of land and that can make visible the unseen beauty of the site. An architecture that answers to the laws of evolution, being adaptable to change.

Interactive Solar Center in the Middle of the World
2013

Light is what allows us to perceive the world around us, appreciating their textures, shapes, colors, depth, etc. Within the architecture, the treatment of light determines the organization of space, composition and arrangement of the primary elements. Light will be the primary element of the proposed architectural object, organizing and regulating other subsystems that compose it. Its strategic location in the Monte Catequilla, latitude 0, allows to observe with better accuracy and breadth the importance of the sun. The project draws on the Cayambe volcano and linearity thanks to parallel 0. Also the position and arrangement of different light inputs to the project corresponds to the solstice and equinox; as well as the need for ventilation in each place. In the area of interactive center each opening correspond to a phenomenon of light and the interpretation of their properties; as well as the specific qualities found at the equator.
